Nikola Jokic, the big guy from the Denver Nuggets, scored a lot of points and helped his team win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He got 40 points, 13 assists, and 7 rebounds without making any mistakes. That’s really good! The Nuggets won 112-97.
Anthony Edwards, who usually scores a lot for the Timberwolves, didn’t do so well this time. He only got 18 points. But Karl Anthony-Towns did pretty well with 23 points. Rudy Gobert, who’s really good at defense, got 18 points too.
This win for the Nuggets means they’re really close to getting into the Western Conference finals.
Before the game, Nikola Jokic was given an award for being the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the third time. That’s a big deal in basketball!
The Nuggets were losing in the last few games, but this time they played at home and won. Jokic scored a lot in the first half and kept going strong in the second half.
There was a bit of drama before the game because one of the Timberwolves’ players, Mike Conley, couldn’t play because his Achilles hurt. Another player, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, took his place and did okay.
The Timberwolves coach, Chris Finch, wasn’t happy about one of his players, Rudy Gobert, being fined by the NBA. Gobert made a gesture like he was holding money after a referee’s call in the last game.
